The farm
Events
We host small events here. We have done our first wedding, and we are open to more of them, along with family parties and other gatherings. If you have something in mind, reach out and we will talk it through.
That is the honest position. One wedding is not a venue and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We would rather work this out deliberately, one event at a time, than turn the farm into a booking calendar.
What the place is
Eight acres in Lakebay, on the Key Peninsula. Dahlia rows, woodland, pasture, and a farm stand at the road. It is a working farm first, so there is equipment, there are hogs, and parts of it look like a farm rather than a garden.
The evening light through the dahlia rows is the thing people come for. It is why we started Golden Hour, our evening picnics and photo sessions in the dahlia patch, running mid-july to early october. Golden Hour is $85 for a picnic for two, $40 for a half hour photo session and $75 for the hour. Photographers pay $95 a shoot or $450 for the season.
What suits it
Small weddings. Birthdays, anniversaries, a family gathering. Anything where the number of people is small and the point is the place itself.
What does not suit it is size. We are not set up for large numbers, and we would rather say that now than find out on the day.
What we have not worked out yet
Pricing and packages. We do not have a price list, because we have not done enough of these to write one honestly.
So we work it out per event. Tell us what you are thinking, roughly how many people, roughly when, and what you need from us. We will tell you plainly whether we can do it and what it would cost. If the answer is no, we will say no, which is faster for both of us.
